I like the resource gathering and building mechanics. And that grouping your troops multiplies the damage - it does alter the playing strategy a lot, in a positive way.
I like the improved world generator with all the different settings that allow you to customize your world the way you want.
It’s very cool that you have an AI now. I tried offensive, and it’s quite challenging, especially if you allocate it more troops! Giving it the ability to build would be awesome, but I imagine that it’s not that simple.
A few more suggestions:
A simpler “how to play” screen with illustrations.
Add keybindings, since there are lots of repetitive actions like chopping trees, building, ending a turn.
Ability to exclude certain classes. For example, Knights versus Archers would be a pretty epic battle!
This has come a long way from the tanks game, it’s awesome to see that you keep improving your engine, and I like where you are heading with it! Great job!
Thanks a lot for a detailed response! I was thinking about illustrations for the howto page but didn’t have time. Key bindings & selecting unit classes are awesome ideas, thanks!

Looks fun but moving each troop 1 by 1 is super tedious
I agree, this was a very bad design decision.
Wow, everything about this game is so nice!
